Mobile pumping station for acidic water environments
A self-contained, robust, and quick-to-deploy solution for industrial water management in mining environments
Design and deliver a mobile, autonomous pumping station compatible with corrosive environments, capable of integrating with existing control systems at the mining site, while offering a flexible and rapidly operational solution.
Results
Faced with demanding operating conditions and the presence of acidic water, there was a need for a reliable, autonomous pumping station that could be deployed at short notice. The solution implemented (Cornell 8NNT 125 HP self-priming pump) offers a compact and mobile approach, integrated into a modified 20-foot shipping container, allowing for flexible installation directly on site.
The station is designed to adapt to variations in the basin while ensuring pumping capacity according to real-time needs. The independent, insulated, and heated mechanical and electrical rooms ensure safe and continuous operation, even in difficult conditions. The reduction in the number of equipment required simplifies operation and reduces maintenance needs.
Thanks to the use of components that are fully resistant to acidic water and integration with existing control equipment, including level probes, the station offers increased reliability and long-lasting performance. The system can achieve a flow rate of 2,200 gpm at 145 feet of head, fully meeting the site’s operational requirements.
